4Driving School FAQs
How many driving lessons do I need to pass the G2 or G road test?
There’s no fixed number of lessons required. Most learners typically need 10-20 hours of professional instruction, depending on prior experience, confidence, and driving conditions. Structured lessons help focus on test expectations and common mistakes.
Is driving school mandatory, or can I learn with family only?
Driving school is not mandatory, and many people learn with family. However, a professional driving school in Ontarioprovides structured training, defensive driving skills, and test-focused preparation that informal practice often lacks.
Are driving lessons suitable for adults or newcomers to Ontario?
Absolutely. Many adults and newcomers take driving lessons in Ontario to learn local road rules, signage, and driving expectations, even if they have prior driving experience elsewhere.
Is professional driving training really worth it?
Yes. Professional instruction helps drivers develop safer habits, better awareness, and stronger decision-making skills, benefits that extend beyond passing the road test.
Can driving school reduce the wait time between G1 and G2?
Yes. Completing an MTO-approved Beginner Driver Education (BDE) program allows eligible drivers to reduce the waiting period from 12 months to 8 months before taking the G2 road test.
